There’s a certain power in the written word. Surrounded by stories, beats, and the smell of fresh thethani (that’s tea in Tamil), this space is about connection — warmth in the cold, soul in the silence.

Expect warm captivating performances before DJ SK takes us on a hazy trip through sounds, genres, and eras designed to take you away (artists featured include Michael Jackson, Deema, Maharani, LL Cool J, Shaggy, Frank Ocean.)

Leave the outside noise at the door — unplug, unwind, meet new people, or dive into that project your heart’s been desiring.

We encourage you to bring your own boardgames and cards!

Our Performers:

Sinthu and Sakita - it’s a family affair! Nush has invited their sister and brother-in-law to set the tone with mellow and vibey tones and sounds that blend both the east and the west. Sit back and take a breathe as their combination of vocals and guitar take you on a trip around the world from the comfort of your seat.

Nush - It wouldn’t be right to start our first event without showcasing our founder - and DJ for the night - to continue on with the night, they will be bringing a similar vibe with some covers and unreleased music from their upcoming album! Expect guitar looping, movement, conversation and bittersweet warm music production!

DJ SK aka Nush set up Descendants of the Past for a way to connect and build a community geared towards celebrating art and amplifying voices. *the brown goodbye - what is that you ask (we assume)? Goodbyes can be awful and instead of ushering you away once the event is over, we’ve left some time for you to make a hot beverage, have a chat and leave when you’re ready.
