who are we?

‘Descendants of the Past’ is a platform curated by Nush that aims to foster community by platforming creatives and their respective media.

We accept a lot of different media formats (check the requirements below) with the direct intention of welcoming underrepresented and underrated talent.

Please rest assured that your following/’clout’ will not affect whether you are chosen to be featured so please do not be afraid to submit your work!

We all deserve to shine and we would love for you to become part of our legacy!

a word from our founder:

‘I chose to start this platform because I feel like our voices aren’t as loud as they could be.

I want to change that.

as a creative, I’VE ALSO EXPERIENCED THE HIGH LEVEL OF BIAS THAT PEOPLE ENGAGE IN WHEN SUPPOSEDLY LOOKING TO BE REPRESENTATIVE OF CREATIVES but actually pick the ones that’ll boost their following. it’s icky and we need to do better.

despite my platform being new and therefore smaller, I want to amplify us as much as I can and I love going through each submission! I look forward to seeing your work.

Please fill out the following form to be posted on our Instagram/website.

please note: you can submit anything outside of the examples provided below (so long as they can be submitted through wetransfer)

The criteria for submission (any of the following is acceptable):

Art - (photography, graphic design, paintings, drawings)

Cinema and audio/visual pieces (thought pieces, independent short films, independent films, theatre production)

Cultural pieces ( historical, sculptures, fashion design and clothes)

Dance (video of your choreography with a caption/background/cultural information)

Literature (articles, poems, personal stories, historical pieces)

Music (new releases - PR kit is preferable, covers, instrumental recreations)

you can submit audio, pictures, video, and documents through wetransfer.com using the ‘as a link’ option.
