“Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift, that is why it is called the present.”
Hailing from NW London, Nush is a Sri Lankan Tamil queer non-binary multidisciplinary creative that champions a message of love and liberation through songwriting, DJing, and music production.
Their original music can be described as ‘lofi world fusion’ where they interweave their mother tongue, Tamil, into the mix and focus on a variety of topics including self-love, identity, revolution and spirituality. They create everything from the comfort of their home studio - this includes producing music for other artists and short films.
Nush uses music to create a ‘safe-space’ community where people can feel free to explore and nurture their creativity whilst simultaneously advocating for the liberation of all oppressed peoples.
When they’re not working on music, you can find them talking on TikTok, engaging in and promoting activism and on the never-ending search for spiritual knowledge.
Nush established ‘Descendants of the Past ( Ancestors of the Future)’ in 2019 as a platform for themselves and other creatives to foster connection and resistance to the status quo. They previously hosted an IG Live show called ‘We Move’ during lockdown and will be putting on their first official event on the 1st of November - stay tuned!
Everyone is welcome.
